About the Vice President
Dr. Shahram Ajori serves as the Vice President for Research and Technology at the University of Maragheh. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, where he has been actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic service for many years. He was appointed to this position by the President of the University of Maragheh in recognition of his outstanding dedication, scholarly excellence, and extensive experience in academic and research leadership.

Dr. Ajori holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and is a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maragheh. His academic career has been dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of solid mechanics, nanomaterials, and molecular dynamics simulation.

Pioneering Contributions in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
Dr. Ajori is at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into materials science and mechanical engineering research. In a pioneering study, he and his collaborators employed various machine learning algorithms and artificial neural network (ANN) structures for the first time to predict the mechanical properties of pristine, boron-doped, and nitrogen-doped graphene, taking into account the effects of various types of vacancy defects. This innovative approach demonstrated that machine learning techniques significantly reduce computational cost and time required to determine mechanical properties of advanced materials, while providing highly accurate predictions. The study, published in the prestigious journal Physica Scripta* (2023), represents a paradigm shift in computational materials science. By employing cutting-edge computational techniques, Dr. Ajori's work opens new insights and pathways for the efficient characterization of nanomaterials.
His vision extends beyond research — he is actively working to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning for the **development of intelligent systems and smart platforms that enhance research productivity, streamline administrative processes, and support data-driven decision-making across the university.
