Researchers at the University of Maragheh Register a Novel Material Named

Dr.Reza Abazari, a faculty member at the University of Maragheh, along with his postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Soheila Sanati, has synthesized a new material called MUM-6. This material This innovative material shows great promise for applications in optical switches and photodynamic therapies.

Dr. Abadari highlighted that one of the significant challenges humanity faces today is the optical switches and the protection of sensors. He stated that research into new materials with diverse benefits could provide effective solutions to this issue.

He explained that materials with nonlinear optical properties are beneficial to the optics industry, particularly for optical switches and sensor protection. Therefore, exploring these nonlinear optical properties is essential for creating more effective materials for these applications.

Dr. Soheila Sanati also underscored the importance of understanding the fundamental properties of materials in the development of new technologies across various fields in developed countries. "With the rapid progress in laser technology and the onset of the photon era, third-order nonlinear optical materials have drawn significant attention due to their vast applications in optical devices," she added.

She noted that researchers are exploring the uses of third-order nonlinear optical materials in several areas, including lasers, harmonic generation, and two-photon photodynamic therapies. Controlling the amplitude, polarization, direction, and phase of light beams is particularly important in this regard.

"In a recent study, we have synthesized a new material named after our university, which exhibits unique features such as open metallic sites and exceptional stability. This material demonstrates remarkable performance in the domain of third-order nonlinear optical materials," Dr. Sanati emphasized.

The findings from this research have been published in the prestigious journal ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces by the American Chemical Society, highlighting its potential for industrial applications in optical switching and two-photon photodynamic therapies.
